Nocatee / 760 boat ramp

I was exploring google earth and ran across a boat ramp on the peace river off HWY 760 near Nocatee. Anyone ever launch there? How far up the river can you go with a combustion engine? I understand there are quality fish as far east as this in the river? Am I mistaken that early fall is a great time to explore this fishery?

Any advice comments would be appreciated

The ramp that you speak of is a good, one lane ramp with ample parking.  I've used it.
I've gone upstream (east) as far as Arcadia. Carefully!
    Watch for sunken snags!
It's a nice trip through Old Florida.
    You can expect good fishing.

The area is heavily used by air boats on weekends.  Plenty of very shallow spots when the water is low. I only boat it during the summer when the water is up.  We use the ramp near the Navigator restaurant at other times.  Good luck.

Thank you all. I saw The Navigator on GE but did not see a ramp there. Is there a website that indicates the water levels on the river?

There is a ramp at Navigator.
    Water level flucuates with rainfall.
I don't know of a gauging station on the upper river.

Since we're in the winter, rainfall is minimal, watch for shallow water.

Can bass be caught in that area? A good population or few and far between? Thanks

I have caught a fair amount of brim around Arcadia so I would imagine that there would be bass also

Nav-a-gator ramp can be dry at low tide...try Lettuce Lake ramp on other side of river. Much better ramp, state maintained

This picture was taken within the last 12 months if memory serves. could have been longer.  Water level so low at that time the paved section was up the hill.  It was a very short trip that day using the trolling motor. Bumped bottom a lot.  Have always waited for higher water since.
You do have me curious.  While I cross that bridge at least 3 times a month I only launch there now during the rainy season.  With the rain the area is getting the Peace should soon come up to more navigable levels.  During the Christmas season the ramp will look like an airboat regatta on most afternoons.

There's an airboat tour establishment just upstream from the launch, not my cup of tea but they have the same right to use the river.
