Windy but Productive

Headed out this morning hoping to fish a bit with a buddy, but due to a plumbing issue at his house I was solo. Wind was howling when I launched the boat so I didn't really plan to stay long. Hit my first spot and within 10 mins I had the first slot trout. Kept moving along and picked up another 2 trout all mid-slot. After about 30 mins some bait started busting right near the boat and I looked down to see a large school of big jacks swimming by the boat...one cast with the DOA CAL and game on. I know some don't like messing with jacks, but I simply love catching fish, and they can be real fun on light gear. After he hit, the drag was screaming and I had to pull power pole and chase with trolling motor. After a good fight, I finally put this big one in the net.

Only a few bites after that, so headed back to ramp. All fish caught on white CAL and back in the water for future fights. I'll have to work on the selfie pics to get as good as Joe.
