Treasure Coast Marina Tournament

20 Oct 2018...  Treasure Coast Marina Tournament...This is a fun event, lots of great people.   107 anglers in the hunt  Little disappointed in the Trout results, none over 4 #.  Wabasso/Vero as usual, my choice area.  Target Snook and Sheepshead.  Water quality, poor at best, clean water showing in several areas.  Air quality Went down fast when the wind shifted to an East quadrant.  Started at 0500, first stops, Pine Island, Hobart Landing, Hole in The Wall and Sisters, all zeros.  Johns Island Bridge short Snook and Snapper.  Grand Harbor, short Snook.  Estuary, dirty water, spotted a Red in the Mangroves, not a player.  Land a Little Ugly, waste of time.  Watch a Bone Head working.  At the Sheepshead hole, bump and run, over grown Red, pulled her out of the Mangroves once, but on the second run she hit the cut, broke off.  Continue to the backside of Johns Island.  Spot 3 Sheepies, but no players.  Back in the ditch, almost a nightmare, the big Snook are back, but not in the mood.  Spot one under a Mangrove, flip cast, she follows it down, bump, hookset, Catfish nailed it.  Continued pitching the Mangroves, spot a good size Sheepie, good flip, bump, pulled the hook.  Next one, watching a big one working a on a root, front flip, Catfish.  Next shot to the side, Snapper.  Target moved back into the bushes, cast, bump, another pulled hook.  Started working the docks, Snook hiding in the shadows, biggest, 24 “.  Sheepshead under the docks and working the wall, lost 3 before I got one to the boat, 15 “.  Worked a while longer and headed for the weigh in.  2 # 2 oz, good for second place and $75.  Released after being measured and weighed.  Note to fishing in the dark.  Have never been really successful at it, my best times are from 1000 to 1400.  Like the Summer when the temps are in the high nineties.  No pictures today, to busy working.

Hey....you made $40 and got a tee shirt....not bad for going fishing.
And yes, I don't do much of anything till grey light... unless I'm hitting dock lights.

I was going to fish the tourney...but my son had to work so I kinda lost interest if he wasn't going to go with me. What were the Redfish weights to score ? ....I had two yesterday.
