The weekend

Well, the mullet run is on full force....but I was not able to get a slam Saturday. Saturday morning was that first hint of fall in the air and it was only 71 degrees when I went out to the truck in the morning. But, I think the weak cold front hurt me and the strong north wind hurt my two best Redfish spots. I did get 4 Trout with two real nice ones and 4 snook.

Today was somewhat better. I did not have great numbers but after catching a small jack at my first spot and then jumping off two snook...I did manage to get a decent snook. As I was leaving I saw a bunch of bait getting big time destroyed...and against my better judgement thru the white CAL into the foaming melee....The fight was on with a big jack. I won but was not interested in any more of that.

Good sport on light tackle....

Next,  I ran to try for trout but the water was very poor and the one trout I had hooked up on a chartreuse CAL came unbuttoned. The next spot was empty so I ran to a spot that usually gives up one or two....and it did. With that done I was on to search out a Red. With the SE wind I was able to look at one of my Redfish spots that was blown out Saturday and after seeing one and not getting a take...the next one was on.

So....that makes #123 ..... looking like I might be able to make this a record year if my luck holds out.

Went to another spot and got this one...

Not great with only one snook (landed) and one trout...and two Reds and two jacks.

Today was kinda slow. I started up by Sebastian and at my first stop I caught a jack and a nice size Trout. I was happy about that because it will give me more time to get the other two which have a lot more possibility of being in the same type place. I started south towards Wabasso and it took longer than I thought it would to get a snook.

It all kinda came off the rails at this point with me losing a couple fish and that is not good when they are Redfish because you just don't know if you'll get another chance. I got another snook before getting this guy.

I was almost afraid that all the luck was out of my new lucky fishing shirt...LOL

    So...that makes # 124
