What is the best way to attach a transducer to metal Jon Boat. Never penatrated the hull with screws except on fiberglass.

You could try G-Flex epoxy, or 5200.

I prefer to attach the transducer to a piece starboard by using recessed flat head screws  with the screw heads between the starboard and the hull.. Then when the depth finder goes south you can mount the new transducer on the same starboard or a new piece, and avoid having to make new holes in your transom. I use Boat Yard Bedding Compound between the starboard and the alum to prevent corrosion.

I just mounted one on my new Sea Ark. I used the transom saver. It’s basically a piece of Starboard but comes with the 2 part epoxy. It worked well for me. Bubba

I did not think anything would stick to starboard, that's what I get for thinking.
