Charlotte Harbor-22' Sea Chaser-10' Talon/Power Pole Adequate?

Bottom KnockerBottom Knocker PUNTA GORDAPosts: 28 Greenhorn
I guess I could have made this a poll. Lets see what happens..
Ready to buy a shallow water anchor system and found good deal on a 10-foot Minn-Kota Talon.  Over $500 less than 12 foot.

For occasional fishing in and outside the bars, should 10' SWA handle most situations?

Thanks for the help!

I think you'll be fine with the 10'.  All depends on how you expect to fish I suppose.
Tarpon... everything else is just bait.

I have an 8' Talon on my 20' sea chaser 200 flats series and love it.  Most of my fishing is in shallow water and I've never have had an issue with it.  My next boat improvement will be a GPS anchoring trolling motor... I think that having both will be useful, because now if there is an offsetting wind and current, I will put the talon down, and manually adjust the trolling motor to position the boat in the orientation that I want to fish...

I'm not sure a gps trolling motor is good for shallow water. Humm, vibration, and stirring up the grass and water is not a good idea.
