I Think I Have A New Rotomolded Cooler Question

AC ManAC Man Posts: 7,436 Admiral
I just bought a new ECO 110qt rotomolded cooler and I love it. Question? It has a heavy rubber button to release the negative pressure to make opening the lid easier. I thought this was a gimmick but went with it. First time I used the cooler, could not open the lid at all without pressing the button and relieving the pressure.

Do you guys with rotomolded coolers have a problem with the air tight lid preventing you from opening it?

I thought the same too.  Although I didn't need to use it right away, one day I did.  I think the more it sits or if you use dry ice, the more you will need it.

Also I think when you load a warm cooler with 7 bags of ice warm soda and beer it contracts a lot. Would think after time and temps are reached it will open, but 6 hours later still pressing the button.

I have seen that issue and I have also seen some coolers with a vacuum breaker on them.
