With PFD's on we headed through inlet at the last 30 minutes of the outgoing tide and a stiff ESE wind (in the dark to catch gogs)  ... going was very slow in my 17' Mckee Craft but we still took a few big ones over the bow that had items floating around the deck and us ankle-deep only to discover that incoming seaweed had blocked the bilge pump!  :o

We pressed on to 'gog heaven' but they were away on holiday so we set out a spread amid the scattered weed and soon had a king in the cooler....no other takers after a couple hours at various depths so we turned home amid whitecaps and very heavy rain....I've lost a few fair-weather friends that way!!!   :#

I have neighbours from various parts of the Caribbean and Asia that are thankful for anything I bring them,...but occasionally I like a fresh steak grilled with some Everglades Seasoning, or Lemon & Pepper, or Cajun, or Jerk, or Old Bay, or... :)

Nothing wrong with eating fresh Kingfish. I don't know why many are put off by it. I actually enjoy it as a change from the usual Grouper, Snapper, Tilefish and Dolphin etc.
