Im pretty sure I have the first model of the go pro camera and my computer isn't ancient so I don't know what the problem is but I can put video up on my computer but it will not play it.And I have a couple different types of video software but I don't know if I have the right ones?:huh The only thing I can see is the pictures I take with it.I have used up all the space on the card and don't want to delete anything so much help is needed so I can start using it again.

Thanks, TJ

Unfortunately, the file needs conversion to a format that your player can eat or you need to update the Codec in your player software.

MP4 is a standard format for HD videos. The fact that your computer can't play them easily means one of two things. Either you have an older computer, or you don't know what you are doing. Try downloading the latest codecs or use a free player like VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) or QuickTime Player (http://www.quicktime.com).

Also, every GoPro-er should have this >>>>>>> http://www.any-video-converter.com/camcorder-video-converter/gopro-camera-video-converter.php
Which ever one(s) of you little boys complained about quotes in the signature should be ashamed of yourself. :blowkiss

Instead of complaining to the moderators you should just quit playing on this board.

Hey, this is the format incompatibility problem. All you need is to convert your video which is not playing. Here I suggest you convert your video file to MP4 because it is the format that most of the devices and players support. Sure, you need to download a free video converter first.

Can't you download GoPro studio?  That should install the codecs.  And if you then uninstall the software, the codecs should remain installed?

I use the Go Pro studio to edit and convert , but I have no problem playing the video on VLC player before converting . Upload the video to your computer from the SD card , then you can record more . With Go Pro studio , all I have to do is insert SD card , and the software uploads to computer and then clears the card for use again .
