Planning a trip to St. Andrews state park in PC the last week of April.  Anyone have experience fly fishing in the park?

Should be a great time to walk the beach for pompano.  Early is best as it can fill up with beach goers.

Pompano should be good then as Red Fish said.  Small crab-like flies or check some fly shops or sources on line for "sand flea" imitators.  There will also be Spanish Mackerel in the surf and 2nd trough.  White streamers and glass minnow type bait fish flies should get them.  The problem with the Macks is their teeth, so you may need a short piece of wire.

If your camping at the park you can wade the grass flats near the boat ramp along the shoreline in Grand Lagoon, just do it early because of the boat traffic later in the day. Plenty of reds and trout. And as others said get on the beach at sunrise for pompano and even some reds will be cruising the shoreline.
