Hello everyone. I am in need of a new tilapia fishing spot. I currently live in hernando county fl but I cannot find much areas to catch tilapia. Does anyone have any spots within a 50 mile radius that has a good stock of tilapia to catch?

I'm unable to help with spots in your area, i know a couple around the Orlando area though. How do you catch them anyway?

All the ponds down there usually have them. Shouldn't be hard to find one. I see guy's getting them at lakes in some parks.

They will hit just about anything when active. I have caught them on inline spinners, small spinnerbaits, grubs, small jerkbaits,  ratltraps and even plastic worms.

I never would've guessed. I see them bedding in the small freshwater ponds, and they're extremely skittish. Maybe i'll give them a try on the fly one of these days. Good luck finding some new spots

This is one of my favorite type of fish as they are easy to find.

I've got em on small roostertails before.
A 6-lb tilapia on a microlight outfit is an interesting time.
