Baby Tarpon in West Broward Canal

You can imagine my shock when I caught a tarpon way out in West Broward.

    Pretty cool. I remember the first time I seen some way out Tamiami trail in the 60's by the gun range.

    That's nuts. I had no idea they travel that far west. Can you imagine seeing a full grown one in a canal?

    I've never seen one over 20. But on bass tackle ,that's enough. :)

    Used to catch em pretty good along the L-36 before Coral Springs and Parkland reached it's banks.

    I see them every now and then in the Miramar area as well as lady fish. Don't know how they make it in there but they do.

    Used to catch them off 27 at Hollywood blvd on shiners in the mid 50s

    If you do stay around Miami and broward and find them, they can be very finicky, the important thing I found is the size.
