Cancun -- Roosterfish?????

mikenavmikenav Posts: 666 Officer

The family and I are headed to Cancun in March and, in the course of my due diligence (you know swim-up bars, golf courses, fishing, all the important things) I have seen several reports of roosterfish. The 74 swim-up bars I believe, but are there really roosterfish in that part of the Caribbean? I was under the impression they were a Pacific coast fish and usually much more south than that.

I'm hoping it's not just guide companies trying to sucker customers out for a roosterfish that "just didn't want to eat that day". Any insights at all??

Here is where I'm staying...

Thanks in advance for any help you might have.

No. But the mahi fishing is good generally.

Kind of what I thought... Was hoping some of those reports were right though.
