Apollo beach boat ramp

Looking to fish just north of the Apollo Beach area, Whiskey Stump Key. I have heard swiftmud dug up some sections of the old redwing port peninsula 12-14 years ago and put some artificial reefs in a restored wetland mitigation project. Anyone fished there? Are there any close ramps North of Apollo? Thanks for any help!!!

Eric if you take Apollo bch blvd to the end there used to be a couple ramps in that area one on the left and one on the right a little before the end of the rd. Don't think the one on the left is there anymore. The one on the right used to be right on the corner. you may have to turn right and enter there not sure been a while. The one on the right can handle bigger boats. Both are pretty obvious where you can go to get to where you want to go. Except pretty much straight out in front the power plant there is a sandbar that is noticeable on low tide, usually covered with birds. Stay east of it. You can probally see this on a chart. To the N there is bullfrog creek bait shop has a ramp but this would be for shallow draft boats and would recommend high tide. The ramp and the river are not a problem, but getting out across the flats. There is not much of a channel and if its windy it gets very ruff!!! Once you get out this is the shortest way there. Alafia river has willams park. Can handle any boat and shouldn't have any problems getting there just stay way out away from land in the deep till you get straight out then turn and go into that area.
You can also launch a canoe right there on 41 safer or I think krycul rd has a park not so safe.
My opinion They screwed that area up with there renourishment. They messed up a killer trout hole I had there. And some other good area just to put in a bunch of canals that never have much water in them and I have never seen any fish in them.
And when they closed the place down it took away a huge area for bank fisherman to actually catch some fish.
**** we had some parties on that beach!!
I would fish the north side islands and mangroves as you come into the area and then all the way back in the ne corner.
