All my buddies and I do all the cooking(or almost all) for our respective families. Most chicks don't know greasy goodness and they should be out making their 77%.
My family divvies up the cooking. Wife makes pies, I usually do the turkey, oysters and beans, sister sweet potatoes, mom cranberries and stuffed celery and a couple pies. Every year is different.
My wife is a coowner of a restaurant and some days is sick at looking at food. That is where I come in. We split our cooking about 50/50 or so.
Last night I made a reduction of frozen tomato's from last summers garden, cooked until thick with salt, pepper and olive oil - umami!. Also cooked greens from the garden, rapini, turnips and mustards with olive oil and sardine paste. Blackened some bee liner fillets and ate the whole mess over a bed of cheesy grits!
I do all the cooking period. Yes this year about 10 minutes before the beef wellington was done, i realized i forgot the creamed spinach. The wife and daughter had been monopolizing the kitchen backing cookies and stuff while i was watching it and my mind wandered. Still came out good but i had to be quick.
Christmas Dinner was, Herb Crusted Prime Rib, My "special" Ham (with a Dr. Pepper Glaze and Ginger Snap/Brown Sugar Crust), Garlic Parmesan & Herb **** Potatoes and Brussels Sprouts with Bacon..

The communist one. Civilization.
It's actually a pretty neat place and their model is a coop. They pay a living wage and motivated workers buy in as owners and get profit dividends.
