St Augustine Wednesday 10/11

Hit vilano ramp at 530am. Was blocked off most of the way across the ramp. Wasn't sure if I should put in, but the guy running the dredging got there at 6 and let me know the ramp is closed. He kept apologizing, but I am happy they are dredging!! I went to the bait shop down in st Augustine beach and hit the lighthouse ramp for the first time. The mosquitoes were brutal, but put in around 640 and hit some local creeks. Got a bunch of finger mullet and fished first 2 hours of incoming. Got a couple rat reds, kept moving 100 yards at a time and got a nice 24 inch slot red on cut mullet steaks. Kept him for dinner. Got a 13 inch flounder on live mullet on jig head, I let him go, not enough meat to kill. After a while I decided to run out the inlet. Hit some 9 mile spots, caught 4 keeper snapper in 30 minutes, vented and revived all, can't wait to keep a few. Ran in and hit the creeks again to some more rat reds on live mullet. No trout, was hoping for one. Any day on the water is a good one. Honored the red tonight and enjoyed him for dinner watching the game. Life is good. It really is.
