My informal dove population survey (look out kitchen window at the feeder) says that we've got more whitewings around than I've ever seen before. I have dozens of them around the house, many times there are more whitewings than mourning doves around the feeder. Most years I am lucky to see any at all, and at most a handful in an entire year. Am I in an isolated pocket of whitewings that has taken over the neighborhood this year, or are other people seeing them elsewhere too? I am in SW Florida.
