Daiwa bg 2500 vs 3000

in Northeast General Fishing & The Outdoors #1
I am probably going to pick up a daiwa bg for a new inshore setup not sure if the 2500 is sufficient. Do you guys think it could handle a big red or snook if needed or should I just go with the 3000? I currently have a penn battle 4000 that needs replacing.
