A while back I posted for prayers for my bother in law General Chuck Scanlon.
Well as God would have it he needed a good security officer for Heaven.
General Scanlon was Commanding General of INSCOM for 8 years followed by 7 years as head of Ops for the Defense Intelligence Agency. Most of his career is basically a secret as you might expect of the former head spy for the US military. I do know that after 911, he was interviewed by nearly every important new agency in the world as his book Attache's (sp?) basically predicted 911 or an attach like this in America. He was on the ground floor of a changing world. I read a report he gave to congress in the early 90's and when I read it I thought it was after 911 because of what he was talking about.
Of course he will have a full military funeral in Arlington when his appointment comes around. Looks like a 3 month wait.
Just so you know, someone like this gets quite a send off as we have been told scheduling takes some time due to the fact that 75 military members are part of this funeral service.
Certainly a lot of high power individuals will be there to give him an honorable send off.
I believe it will be an experience unlike anything I have ever seen.
Once scheduled, I will post and of course I will have pictures to post of this very sad but honorable send off.
Chuck, our family is honored to have had such a great man as a member and friend!

By the way it is a guard of honor, not a firing squad!
Either way impressive. I knew it wasn't a firing squad but couldn't think of honor guard.

Our loss, as well, and we send our condolences.

An interesting piece was at the memorial service in Indian Harbor.
The first song sang at that service was sung by Chucks great niece, an accomplished singer.
It was the theme from "The Spy Who Loved Me"
Not a dry eye in the church from that point forward
