Colorado!!!

Colorado rocks!!!

I just got back from a week in Colorado. My dirtbike club drove our bikes out there. I flew out and rode in the Rockies for 5 days. We stayed around Gunnison / Crested Butte area. Rode from 9,000 up to 12,000+ feet! Hard to breathe up there.

The people are so nice. Low crime too. I stopped at a liquor/convenience store. It was two separate stores, but connected inside. Both front doors propped open. I went into liquor side and got a 12-pack and took over to convenience side because NOBODY was working in the liquor side. I could have strolled out the door with anything, including the cash register.

The guy behind the convenience register said to go back to other side and wait because he can't ring-up alcohol on this side. Well, he was counting money behind the register. He had stacks of bills on the table ($100 each stack). I counted at least $1,300. He left the money right there on the counter (10 feet from open front door), and came over to liquor side to ring me up.

White-water rafting on the Arkansas River was fun. Class 4 rapids, they said. Water temp was 48 degrees!

Pot shops everywhere!!! Amazing! Ads for dope in newspapers and radio commercials. One store had 12 varieties of Sativa and 12 of Indica, plus 3 hybrids. Also, edibles, hash, shatter, wax, kif, and other stuff I never heard of. You can buy and ounce, take it to your car, and go back and buy another all day long.

Locals say homeless 20-something hippies are a big problem.

Curvy hilly roads just 4 feet from 200+ foot cliffs without any guardrails!!!

This is not my photo, but I was standing in same place a few days ago. Will post my own photos when I have time.

Like that in Alaska too, you can buy alcohol in the grocery store but they have a separate register in another part of the store for that. Stupid laws.

You also see people walking around with side arms.

Spent some time in that area when I toured with a bluegrass band. It is a nice change in the summer, and yes the driving freaked this flatlander out, can't imagine being comfortable on a dirtbike out there.

As for the weed, this was 2003, it wasn't "legal", but the cops didn't give a crap about it.

I've read some on that they're a lot of folks leaving California.

It wouldn't post my picture of the California debt clock. $461 billion in debt.

My home for 41 years. Summit County, 75 miles west of Denver. 9,000' elevation.

But winter is long and cold. I have seen snow in all 12 months of the year.
