Tripletail Tips

Anyone have any good tips/tactics for catching tripletail? I've seen them out before around channel markers and crab buoys, but have never been successful at getting them to bite.

dont pullup to marker or bouy keep going and come back around and use TM or drift by, stay a good 30 to ft away and toss shrimp up current and let it drift past masker or buoy. try various depths with live shrimp. maybe use a cricle hook for one rig and a jig for another. somedays one works better than the other

Tripletail are nasty poop eating glorified Tilapia. Mushy mud meat, don't waste a freelined shrimp or a 1/16 to 1/8 oz Pink flatheaded jig(with a shrimp) that sinks REAL slow. Not worth it.

They will eat just about anything slow sinking or suspending.
