Slow day @ The Pass

Launched Sunday @ 7am. Water was much clearer than anticipated and @ 82.4 F.
Went to the beach and threw topwaters for an hour. Nothing.
Headed inside and did manage a ladyfish and a couple jack's on the Pop-R.
Switched to the blue Yo-Zuri (and like last trip), sail cat city! Caught 4 before changing locations.
Out to Cape Romano. Lots of boats, but everyone was courteous.
Anchored and tossed chunk ladyfish and shrimp.
Lots of baitfish and ended with a small bonnethead shark.
Back to the inside in search of trout.
Got anchored and the Ex-girlfriend (yes, still on speaking/fishing terms) throws a white Spro jig.
Drag starts screaming a nice snook rolls near the mangroves.
She turns the rod tip and 3 minutes later, a nice 32-1/2" linesider joined us for a few pictures.
A quick release and like a light switch, it went from comfortable to hot!
To some rock piles outside of The Pass. Ladyfish every cast.
Now it's hot, minimal breeze, to the ramp......before Memorial Day Rookie Weekenders arrive.
A really slow day. Lots of "trash can slam" fish, the one small shark and decent snook.
Oh well. It was good to be on the water.
A couple weekends off and I'll be back.

Yeah, we got out early on Sunday, couple of snook on SuperSpook Jr to 26" and a 24" redfish in the back. Couple of snapper, a ladyfish inhaled the 3d flat crank (bloody decks, shirt and pants) and of course a sailcat. Very nice weather, almost cool in the am, then got more of a breeze to keep the heat down as the sun rose. The bite stopped with the tide turn and water was very clear. Back at the ramp by 2, not a trailer slot open!
