2017 Trash Fish Classic

in Northwest General Fishing & The Outdoors #1
The Trash Fish Classic will take place this year on May 13 at Rock Landing Marina in Panacea. Pay out will be half the tournament entry fees. All other proceeds are used as fundraising for a youth baseball team to send them to Cooperstown NY in July. Come join us this year for a fun time and a great cause. Captains meeting will be Thursday May 11 at Gordos on Timberlane rd.

    Captains date was wrong in original post. Thursday May 11 at Gordos in Market Square off Timberlane. Come join us, register your crew, buy a shirt, have a cold beer or 3 and enjoy some delicious food!!!! All for a good cause.

    Dang Slough.... You eat bait, I mean pinfish? I have caught some bigger than my hand. Never tried them though.

    I wonder what the attendance would be if the points were reversed? Cobia 1 and pinfish 20. I hope the kids make money for the trip :beer

    Not regularly LOL, but did clean some for a yougin one time cause he wanted to cook what he caught. They wasn't bad:shrug And hey they look like a bream

    Once, in a little off the beaten path hotel in Southern Spain where Child Bride and I were spending the night, the hotel restaurant had "leeetle fried fish" on the menu, we tried it. I swear, we both decided we had eaten Pinfish for dinner. Kinda' boney.

    Big ole stingray wings chunked and fried taste like chicken fingers cooked in fish grease. Texture is very similar to breast meat chicken.

    Prize money is awarded to 1st and 2nd place. Most points wins in. All fish must be legal size, 40 point bonus for the "trash can slam" which is the first 5 fish on the list. In the event of a tie, longest catfish wins.
    For a complete set of rules come to the captains meeting.

    Don't knock em till ya try em. By the way I have been known to cook up a batch of chitluns every now and then too. It's all in the preparation.
