Hello Everybody. I'm hoping someone knows what this is. My little girl caught this fish off a dock in Marathon with cut shrimp earlier this month. I've searched my Sport Fish of the Atlantic and the internet and I can't find it.
I accidentally caught a Parrot fish while I was there. He decided he wanted to try a piece of shrimp. The Parrot fish had a blue Beak. The scales between the Parrot fish and this are similair, very large. There's a photo of him as my profile pic. Thanks for giving it a look:)
I think everyone is right. It has to be a Parrot fish, most likely a juvenile. I didn't fully notice when I was taking the hook out, but zooming in on the top photo I can see what looks like a beak forming.
It could be a baby parrot fish but im guessing it is some kind of wrass , they have like 160 members in that family and they all look like baby parrot fish prettymuch

That's what I would say. They come in a variety of colors and are very prevalent in Marathon
