Port Canaveral 4-20-17...Yes a dolphin report

I made it out of Canaveral yesterday (Thursday) and it was pretty sloppy. My bay boat earned its keep dealing with those seas for sure.

Towards the end of the day the seas did improve a little, but the ride out was brutal.

We ran out to 130 found scattered weeds/flyers and put the lines in. Between 130 and 170 we picked up 2 very respectable cows (over 40" fork length), jumped off a couple other decent fish, boated several peanuts, a bonito and a king. We turned around at 180 and trolled back to 130 and then back to 180 with only some peanuts to show for it. We then trolled in and out all the way to 300' without another knock down or any good weed formation. The flyers seemed to be everywhere and not concentrated.

We never found any big bulls like we caught in March.

After trolling for hours with no knockdowns we bottom fished. The sharks were really thick but we did manage to get some AJs past them.

All of the dolphin came on pink or purple chugger heads on top of ballyhoo. The king took a ballyhoo on a black/purple islander. All but one of the peanut dolphin was turned loose.
