Bottom Fishing on a Full Moon Phase

I will be bottom fishing out of Panama City Beach in July for red snappers and gag groupers in the 250 ft. of water. What is everyone experience been with bottom fishing on a full moon phase during this time of year??

Mostly current. You'll be fine but may have to bump up your weight.

Thank you for the quick reply. Do you find that the fish are more active and feeding or less active during the full moon versus other moon phases? I have fish mainly on last quarter moon phase and have done really well but want to give a full moon phase a try since I have heard good stories of catch results.

I've never paid it much attention. these days I go when weather allows and regs permit a worthwhile trip. always manage to load boxes. i also try to have at least 8-10 hours of fish time.

if 260' in July and snapper fishing, u must be charteting. if that's the case, you'll get your limit real fast regardless of moon.

It's my experience that saltwater fish don't much care about a particular moon phase. It's all about tide and current inshore and water temp. / color and structure offshore. Something is ALWAYS eating in the Gulf. Too much **** competition.

For me to hypothesis I'd have to say the bite is stronger in a much smaller bracket of time.

I always have poor luck offshore fishing (during the day) when the moon is full. Do fine on the new moon, so I don't think it's too much current. I always assumed it was because they ate all night, and the major feed isn't until later in the day ( when I'm usually wrapping things up). 4 days before and after a full moon seem to be good. With that said, if it's nice, I'm going. Good luck
You should have been here yesterday

    Work the tides....
I've had the bite be on fire while the moon was still up in the mornings and when it set they got lock jaw.
Also the reverse....nothing with the moon still up and then the bite start once it set.
    Just go out and enjoy
