Planning a 2 day trip to the Marsh in about a week.

Any fishing reports folks?

Thanks

Fished it 2 days in the past week. Water level is highest I've seen. Only a few stump tops visible in the south end. Bite was slow but managed 18 one day but only 6 the other. 4.5# was the biggest. Most came in plastic worm with a couple in top waters.
Water temp yesterday was 68-74. Water clarity is only about 18" everywhere.
It's fishing a lot like a normal lake now with all the grass and high water. Fish are scattered.
Lots of out of state boats/trailers. Easily 20+ boats fishing the south end of the farm.
Oh, and the road is bad. Real washboard.

I hope to be there next Wednesday Thursday and Friday am.

    No problem guys.
North side of the road is a little smoother than the south side (but not by much).
Because of the water clarity, you'll want a SE, S or SW wind to allow some of the sediment in the water to sink and clear up as much as possible. Looks like you'll get that the end of next week.
I might be down there, I'll be in a tan 175 Lowes/Mercury. If you see me, come over and say hi.

SC53 I was at the Marsh on Friday last for a scouting trip and the sand road to the ramp was very good. In fact, the short paved road just before the sand one was much worse.

Maybe they regraded it after your visit.

I was there Monday and last Friday and it could use a little grading.

Agreed...just a few words of historical experienced advice/perspective can save and do more than going scouting a dozen times. I've learned with SC53 (no matter the fish species) to listen closely, dude can rip'em.

It is supposed to be graded twice a week...but usually only gets it once....and the heavy traffic really takes its toll. 6 miles is a long way when it's bad.

Postponed trip due to poor weather forecast.

1 day after cancellation forecast improved - Grrrrrr!

weather guessers only correct 3 out of 30 days...FACT. Most days they do not even get the wind direction correct.

    Report for ya David.
Went Saturday 2/25. Parking lot was FULL at 7:05. We were last boat in the overflow.
40 boats fishing the south end of the marsh.
We only had 5 by noon, wife had a 5.3 though.
By 4:00 when we left, we had 21, including another 5 lbr (yes, she got that one too).
    All came on worms.
