  I've caught them on Rapala shad rap and glass shad rap. blk/wht and ghost white.. Not sure about eating or wanting to eat them.

  I catch quite a few of them, live bait is your best bet but noisy crank baits and rattle traps can get the job done also.

  Find the schools of shad and you will find the clowns. We had three hookups last trip, and put two of them in the boat on live and dead shiners.

  I haven't been fishing in a few years, but went today in canals in Coral Springs and saw over a dozen LARGE ones I had never seen before.
  
  They weren't interested in my little Rapala but I did get a couple of little bass.
