So the paperwork is filled out and signed by the puppy buyer and the breeder when the owner picks up the puppy. Then when all the puppies have the paperwork filled out, the breeder sends it in.
  
  And some breeders do the registered names of all puppies...
  
  I mentioned to Trip about the call name because the dog will likely be published in catalogs, etc.... You do not want anything too goofy...

  Before Rowdy I had a GSD call name Baer. Registered named Hartmut Vom Landholz. Vom Landholz kennels 'H' litter.

  A buddy of mine who runs deer with dogs calls all of them S__t head or S__t Eater. All of them have names, he just doesn't use them much.

  We've always have been partial to "Prince".
  
  One of our relatives had a dog by that name.
  
  One summer, the pooch was run over by an ice-cream truck.
  
  He lost half of a rear leg, but it didn't slow him down much.
  
  Give a dog that name, and you can always compliment the chef.
  
  Just say "it's a meal fit for a prince".
