I made a scouting trip from Surf Side Park down to Matanzas Inlet Friday morning to see how things are since Matthew blew through. The Atlantic Ocean is still rollin' in ...

Haven't been doing much with the shots I've been taking. This guy's style and zest motivated me to break out the html, css and open up notepad ... http://dwb444.net/h/01/

The north side drive on ramp is closed for cleanup and the inside and outside walkways are "gone". The 4th shot might give some "depth perspective", but I'd say yes to shallow. Some batch edits of the south side ...

Sure hate to see a whaler incarcerated like that. Looked like they thought it might get away. ;-]

    Wow, thank you!

The inlet has been steadily moving S. Half a mile in the 500 years since Ft. Matanzas was built - originally facing the inlet. In the 40 years we've fished the N side - we've seen at least 7 or 8 bridge spans fill in.

The inlet itself looks deep and swift to me. Would like to take a ride up there soon. Not familiar with the S side at all, tho shallow, looks like there might be access for surf fishing. We've had to give it up because of the long walk on the N side.
