Places to stay

Thinking of traveling over from the west coast to fish the Lagoon or Indian/Banana River. Looking for places to stay on the water. Have boat want to travel. Mid October is when I’ll be traveling. Thank you in advance.
I always cast to where the fish are. :crossed

Having fished both sides and usually fishing the area you're interested in, you are a lot better off staying West. I hate to say it but as screwed up as the water is over here it's really not worth the trip. I fished the Indian River today and found a good spot where I could see in three inches of water.

Hey...Didn't I just give you that same advice about heading to the west coast? :rotflmao

In the October time frame...*Mullet run*...there will be fish to be caught along the beaches and inlets.....
Sight fishing?...most likely not that great.

Oh, and for places on the water ...Down south there is Harbor lights on Ft Pierce inlet and Rufus Wakemans place...River palms in Jensen.

Up here by me...Sportsmans lodge and Ferndale lodge put you in good striking distance to Sebastian inlet..
and if you've never seen Sebastian during " The run" ....You are missing an "event".

I'm local and did a few day staycation here.
Wife and I got dropped off in the boat and we were carless for a few days.
Other then her putting a treble hook in my cheek it was a great time.
Short story, I went to a marina that knows me and one of the guys let me barrow his truck to go to ER.

Yes, you did :), but he's already there and it's a 2 hour + drive for me. I did run into a marine biologist from FWC yesterday in Titusville and we talked about water quality and fishing and the area in general. The guy knew his stuff. I mentioned that I knew a guy on the forum that fished Sebastian about every day and that he said it wasn't worth the trip (however there is photographic evidence from said individual that questions that statement :). His response ... Oh, yea, DuckmanJr, we know that guy. Seemed like there was a story behind that but he didn't elaborate. LOL.

There's a big void between Sebastian and Oak Hill. There's the Mosquito Lagoon Fish camp and then I don't think there's anything else until you go further north to Edgewater.

Funny you mentioned the River View Hotel. Thats is going to be our 2nd stop.(wife) lol The 1st stop is/maybe the Oak Hill fish camp. Whats your opinion on that place? PM me if you rather not say out loud. Also, does River View offer trailer parking? It looks like they have slips, but my boat is a ’17 skiff. Congrats on quitting smoking :dance

I haven't been to the Oak Hill fish camp.

For the River View Hotel, load the boat with what you need and leave the truck and trailer at the public boat ramp.

Get a bottom floor room, I got the top room floor room when I stayed at the River View, dragging the gear up and down was kind of a pain.

If you want a change up and a little inland local stuff go here after the mates and Capt's are done cleaning the boats on a Fri. or Sat. night.

If you want a place to park a trailer call river view and ask.
If they won't, I'm sure http://www.fishincovemarina.com/ would have a place to park a trailer might be a few bucks.
