    That does not sound good....

I did not see any choppers nor did I see any local rescue boats headed that way this AM....Normally I see / hear something....especially the CG Dauphene helicopter... It usually flies straight up the beach.

I've played through the scenario in my head, what I would do if I ever fell off the South Jetty... my answer is drop all my sh__ and float until the tide quit pushing me then swim to shore... but of course that tide could take you all the way to Monster Hole... if you could start heading south once past the tip you'd stand a chance but gawd does that water rip through there... with all your gear on and dodging all the lines it would certainly be challenging...

I fell off the south side of the south jetty at Ponce.
I got cut up but didn't need stitches.
Never went back, beach or boats after that fall.

    Very scary...

My son fell in ( was pushed actually) off the L dock... I was not there, my wife was there with a friend. He was like 4 or 5 years old...If it wasn't for some fisherman who waded out to his neck and grabbed him...it could have gone bad... outgoing can rip there...
The FD does its "swift water rescue" training there... Oddly, My son is now a member of that team.... :grin

In thinking about it...Maybe grab lines..... hope they don't hook you too bad.... :shrug

If anyone pushed my son off the L dock I don't think there would be an L dock left

    Ouch! on self hooking!

I'd be more scared they'd think I was a boat and throw sinkers at me LOL

of course if it was a circle hook, it'd never bite and i'd be swept out to sea to drown...stupid circle hooks.
