To be brutually honest, the last 3 trips I've made have been terrible on the Banana River. So I figured I'd try the IRL for the first time since I moved here. I'm glad I did, I threw on my Simms, and eased onto a flat at safe light armed with topwater and jigs, but I should've left the jigs at home, all they would hit was topwater. Mullet was absolutely everywhere, and the trout were right below. Ended up catching about a dozen and lost what felt like 2 good fish, as well as a few smaller fish. I took 3 home for Sunday supper and my boys were stoked...off the water for 0830.
Tight lines and God Bless

Many things to do.
Knots to be unraveled

Not a wade fisherman at all but what I can tell you is shuffle your feet when you walk (stingrays) and watch for gators! Even in the salt water.
