Destin seafood

Sorry but not a fishing post. Looking for a good local seafood joint that is not a tourist trap. You guys know any places.

Dewey Destin's is real good. They have two locations but, I like the one on the bay the best. Very casual; eat on picnic tables on the pier. Great sunset view. Their stuffed shrimp is to die for........stuffed with crab meat, wrapped in bacon & then fried. Had it (again) last week. I think there are about 5 or 6 big shrimp along with fries, hush puppies & cole slaw. More than I can eat & I'm a big guy. For years only the locals knew about it. Unfortunately, the tourist have found out about it & the line can be long at times (45min to an hour).......but, worth it. Their other location overlooks the harbor.

Hard to find a non tourist spot, and I would say it is one, but Ive been eating at the Back Porch for 40 years and I always love it. Their grilled tuna is my favorite.

We either go out early or late.....stay away from peak hours.

They are all touurist traps during tourist season. Their prices all reflect that fact. Most of the places lower their prices after the tourists go back home to school.
    Kayak Rookie...and loving it.
Fishing beautiful Destin / Ft Walton Beach area!
