Hi,
I have two Penn reels that I am having problems with:
My Penn Pursuit 6000 is spinning backwards. I can't pull in fish.
My Penn 750ss Gen 2 clicks when reeling, but makes no noise when line is being pulled out. It also has a tendency to flip the anti-reverse switches when in use.
Not sure with the SS, you may have to crack her open to determine what is causing the issues, I would focus on the dogs. If you are not comfortable opening them up you can send them to us to work on, or reach out to one of our authorized repair centers in Florida for assistance. Full list can be found here:
We didn't design it to last a certain period of time.....how long a reel lasts all depends on much you use it and more importantly how much saltwater you get inside it.....A/R bearings (in every reel I've ever seen) will corrode when exposed to saltwater. We'd be happy to take a look at it for you if you like.
I service my own reels and i think the bearing is just done. Do you guys supply the a/r bearings for the original fierce 4000. If so what do they start at and where can i order them.
Is there any way I can contact our sales rep? I don't think we actually have one come to our store (****'s Sporting Goods) and non of my corporate/HR know of a Penn Rep. Any idea on how I can find an email/phone number for one?
I have a spinfisher 8500v that has a smooth scratching sound when turning handle. Took spool off and same sound. Any ideas what is the issue?
Difficult to say without actually being able to see/hear the reel. If you have done the usual [internal cleaning, re-lubing] it may need to be sent in. If still under warranty [less than a year old], send direct to PENN per the website instructions, or you can also check the site for a servicing dealer near you if past the warranty period. Even if past warranty, you can still send it direct to PENN, but there may be a charge depending on the cause.

The Pursuit needs a cleaning of the anti-reverse bearing, or replaced all together, part # 98C on the schematic - http://s7d5.scene7.com/is/content/purefishing/407-PUR6000
