  A dry bushing or a touch of corrosion can keep the bendix from moving into position. Was there any salt spray residue on your motor that may have caused the problem? If so, look for the source or if a transducer or speedwheel is sraying up near the motor.

  No salt spray that I could see. I will look closer. I want to change the spark plugs this weekend. I remember seeing a video that you made about indexing the plugs. I tried to find the thread here with no luck.
