Black Drum Report

TgrassTgrass Posts: 204 Deckhand
I had a really good day on Sanibel with some Black Drum. Walking the beach we spotted a very large Mud that was a very long cast away. It could be reached but when the school moved in then it was a much better hook up ratio. I went four for eight. I have no idea how much they weighed but I would estimate between 12 to 15 pounds.

The are a very hard fish to tail because the tail is rather small and thin, I was fortunate to be able to have someone take the first picture of my first Drum but with the others it was just easier on the fish to slide it up on the beach to remove the hook and then a quick photo. When you release these guys they are like a rocket, gone in a split second.

There were also some nice Pompano in the mix.
