ok, from what fla dmv states on their web page, motorcyclists are not required to carry insurance unless you ride without a helmet
how would the le know if you have insurance unless they pull you over?
Never been pulled over on mine. Usually wear a helmet unless I'm riding around the hunt camp. I have insurance and don't know why anyone would ride without it.

This is true. I wear a helmet and never been asked for insurance. I never had it till motorcycles started getting so expensive.
Owner of vehicles name, has the registration run out.
Last time I got pulled over was because the registration was 2 days over do.
Couldn't tell from the the little registration sticker it was still in the same month.

When the no helmet w/insurance thing passed years ago I was told by LEO not having a helmet on was probable cause to pull you over.
I did ride w/o insurance for years (my health insurance covered me in case of an accident, someone else's insurance would cover me if I was hit) when I was young & dumb and of course on cheaper bikes.
Then I carried insurance for the last 14 years until I sold my last one, bike insurance is cheap IMO, I've never paid more then $350 a year.
That being said, I wont ever ride w/o again out on the road. Even gave up my skid lids in favor of full face all the time ( I used to wear full face on my sports bikes & skid lids on the cruisers because it was "cool" looking )
