Saw lots of boats in the 150-250' range and quite a few around the Vand so we decided to head out a little further. Got out to about 550' and the water got a little rougher so I figured it must be the tailings of the stream. Saw lots of top water action, looked like phins chasing flying fish, but no takers on the spot. Open water about 600' and long goes off and a a nice cow is in the box. She hit a chin weighted hoo behind a pink sea witch. 2 hrs later we're in 400' and the WWB gets smashed. Big skip jack in the box and he fell to naked chin weighted hoo. Had a few short mystery bites and even encountered a wahoo just past the reef in 150'. Running a pink and crystal islander on my flat, the rod all of a sudden just stood straight up...then I saw the line in the wash.
Things are picking up a bit. Hopefully the water heats up fast.
