This eagle didn't fly off as the boat got close to shore and with the wind up, it's posture seem odd. It made sense when I got the pictures off the card and saw how it was "hanging on".

    Tim,

Lake Lochloosa is to the west of Hwy 301 between Citra and Hawthorn. When the water levels up up it's joined to Orange Lake by Cross Creek.

Looks like the eagle in missing a leg. Must be a hardship for a bird of prey, but it seamed "adjusted" to the situation.

Very cool. Some dumba$$ shot one in Jax last week and another apparently ran into something and was sitting on a street corner in town. Both birds are expected to be OK.

Looks like it might be drying out after a dive in the water? Did you think of showing these to FWC? Maybe they can help in some way.

    Darrell,
well that was a stupid question as you had posted the location...
I just was thinking about all of the images you'd shot over the years coming out of waccassasa...
I enjoyed your slide show of the lake...
goes to show you don't need no stinkin' bass boat to catch bass and pan fish...

    merry Christmas....
