Live Bait

From what I understand, The best places to get live bait on foot are boat ramps in the early morning?

Any tips would help thanks

    Hey Mike,

    Boat ramps like Sandsprit is loaded up with finger mullet right now.. especially the beach area on both sides. You can easily cast a net a few feet and get them. We got 2 dozen with 3 throws yesterday.

    Also, any docks, pockets where there is a seawall might produce bait as well. If you know Manatee Island in Port Salerno, right off their seawall is a ton of finger mullet. If you know anyone who lives on a canal, you should be able to score as well.

    Boat ramps early in the morning, before the boats start getting put in & then late at night, after the day's activities have calmed down. Also, on the beaches, in coves, near bridges, near docks, near rocks, etc.

    Usually anywhere that someone posts a "No Fishing" sign will also hold plenty.:banghead
