Fast or Extra Fast for live bait?

What's the difference? Can you use fast for live bait. Cause I use fast action for lures. I'm looking at that new 7'6" 8-17 Avid for live bait. And I've used Loomis Greenwaters and they say extra fast is for live bait so I'm confused can somebody explain this to me please

Fast and Extra Fast are relative terms, assigned by a manufacturer. Each manufacturer thinks a little differently, so what Loomis might term Fast, St Croix might term moderate of Extra Fast. Just go to a tackle store and bend the rods you are interested in and then pic the one that YOU think will do the job you want it to do.
