  Capt Yuri told me the best month for fishing is Dec.
  
  Are you running a boat down or booking a trip from Key West?
  
  Oct-Nov and April-May can be windy.

  Thanks, would run the boat to Boca Grande or Marco, then over from there. Weather will be an issue. Dec would workout if that is a good time. Never been before, and hoping for input on best times. Know the prevailing easterly winds can cause problems.

  We make the run all year...didn't notice a radical difference and each season has its own advantage. Winter - some bite was predictably better but can be sloppy and cold. Summer - fish the mahi around, more flat seas, and helluva better dive. So....maybe do spring

  You'd want to watch the cold fronts coming down from late Oct-late April. They normally run every 5-7 days with a few days in the middle that could work.

  Have a 32 Sea Vee...Is the Dec fishing mainly groupers etc. Are the permits still on the wrecks in Dec? Muttons? Do the tarpon stay in the basin year round?

  March, April and most of May are the windiest months of the year.
  
  Best bites are usually in Nov/Dec. Plenty of muttons/tails and red grouper.

  Gary and I had a great trip last December with Capt Yuri. 7 Nice Blacks and plenty of Muttons and Red grouper as well as yellowtails, porgy and big scamps. Here is the link to our trip report. lots of photos throughout the report
