Catching live bait from Land

What types of areas should I look for to hold bait that are accessible on land? Boat ramps, Beach, docks, small bridges etc?

Thanks

All of the above. We use both a sabiki and cast net from the beach.

What do you want the bait for? That would help too.

I was looking for good baits to catch snook, i figured pilchards, mullet and pinfish would all be caught with a cast net. I assume early morning is best for targeting bait on the beach?

Beach in the surf, pin fish around jetties on shrimp or squid (will last a lot longer than pilchards) or boats ramps.

If you have access to a dock or just wade out in the river, get a pinfish trap, bait it and set it.come back next day and you should have some pisswinkles. Only bait better is pigfish or croakers.

Head to the beach with your net and just look for the pilchards or pelicans diving the shoreline. . They may be at one beach and not another. In years past I've found some good schools just north of the house of refuge. If that fails, walk the shoreline on the river side and look for the mullet. Put some time in and you'll find em.. Good Luck...
