PC - 6/24 - short trip to 8a
Left Bluepoints marina at about 8:30 today - netted Pogeys by the Cocoa Pier and went to 8a. Barnacle Bill and I were nearly the only boat out there - a sure sign nothing too great was going on ! Despite a small and scattered amount of sargossa weeds that fouled our slow trolled pogeys every once in awhile - and the near 85o surface temps - We managed to catch and boat the maybe only Kingfish out there today ! There were some small sharks and remoras out there too.... We quit at noon - pretty hot out there - fishing not !... Did see a pod of Spanish Mackeral on the surface on the way back in - not far from the #4 shoal buoy - but the would not take any small metal lures we threw at them .
