35th Annual Florida Keys Trip - May 16 - 23, 2015

Had a fantastic trip & Dolphin fishing during my 35th annual trip to Islamorada last week. Sunday was too rough for fishing but allowed ample time for boat/fishing tackle/bait preparation for awesome action starting on Monday when we caught 16 nice Mahi. Monday was a bit rough, but manageable.

Jason admiring the catch!

Our best day with 20 Mahi. Ocean was so calm it allowed for the two oldest of our crew (79 & 80) to each land a nice dolphin.

On our return to dock in the PM, we found a floating stump/driftwood that was loaded with bait. Obviously had already been fished, but it provided interesting inhabitants.

Jason placed his camera over the side just underwater to get some shots. This one was a little close to the shark!

Thursday was very calm & the ocean looked like a lake. We caught ten Mahi & were able to get a nice picture of a free jumping billfish in the PM.

Frigate bird marking the fish!

We went into Caloosa Cove Marina to get fuel & Jason took a very nice picture of our 1989 22' Boston Whaler Outrage & Crew.

We fished one half a day on Friday & concluded the trip with five Mahi; three of which were pretty nice.

We always prepare/cook/eat our meals at the cottage, but; eat out on Friday evening. The Islamorada Fish Company has become a tradition due to outstanding food, service, and sunset views.

All & All, one of the best trips we have had in many years!
