Loaded up bright and early for the kdw Classic with forum member (jbail). Stop at Gary and picked up 2 dozen gogs and a dozen pilchards. And headed to the check in boat. 6:30 hit and it was a mad dash out the inlet with 100+ boats. Got to our spot for lines in and the 2nd bait getting set in our spread gets slammed. SMOKKER KING.. After a nice fight we get it to the boat. But right as the gaff it getting stuck the tax man beats us to it.
Finished the day with another 18 pound king and 2 dolphin. Weighed the sharked king at the scale and it went 30 pounds. Due to "no mutilation " rule we didn't make the board of what would have been a placing fish.
Not bad for our first tournament
