Inshore quick trip on the yak around 1PM to 330PM. I was using my fresh spool of braid that I left in the back of my truck for 2 days in the sun...little did I know that the sun makes braid very brittle. Every 3rd cast of my rapala Xrap diving plug the line would break and would launch the plug into the mangroves.
Ended up ripping all the faded braid off and got to the strong stuff. Small minnows and schools of mullet everywhere. Ended up catching a snook..ladyfish..and a few small small trout. Got off the yak due to the 20 mph west winds and decided to use live finger mullet at a hole not affected by the wind. Cought a small tarpon. Great trip. Much needed.
Fish were released unharmed.
