Been dying to go out the past few weeks, but bad forecast after bad forecast has kept me in. Decided that I would go out on Sunday no matter what. Woke up and NWS said 3-4 ft with a 3s period but with a W wind. Definitely not ideal for my 18' foot boat, but decided I would suck it up. Caught some bait and then headed out to one of the PA reefs. Dropped down and slow drifted past the reef and hooked up with a cobia on the first pass. Got it into the boat after 20 minutes and swung around. Dropped the baits again and started jigging. Hit the cobia on the right on my 2nd jig drop. Headed back to the inlet by 9 AM. Great day on the water.

We were in a hurry cause of the conditions and just used sabiki right outside the inlet between the buoys. We caught about 2 dozen atlantic bumpers, but only used 2 before we limited out.
The current was really strong and we weren't using heavy sinkers so I would guess that it was in the middle of the water column for the fish on the left. The second cobia was down at the bottom and nailed my butterfly jig on my first few turns of the reel. It could have followed it down though.

To each their own... Personally a bit fishy for my preferred taste unless of course prepared to mask that fishyness.
Very nice fish though and even more impressive on an 18ft bay boat
Haha at least it is a seahunt. I was a bit worried when we first got it, but it handles really well offshore and is very dry even in terrible conditions.
Have a 21 cc. Very dry boat.
