Blue Marlin Fishing in the Dominican Republic

Donzi MikeDonzi Mike Posts: 11 Greenhorn
Just returned from a 2 day fishing trip in Casa De Campo, DR. We fished on the "Committed", a beautiful 58' Merritt ran by our buddy Capt. Sean Young from Palm City. This was my first time fishing the FAD's.

Day 1 had us looking at relatively calm seas for this area. Our first hook up was a triple header and all 3 went in different directions. After a 45 minute fight, we released 2 out of the 3.

Day 2 showed us a stout wind and 4-6 foot seas. A mid afternoon bite brought us 2 more catch and releases.

We went 4 for 6 on blue marlin with Jerry "Papa J' and his son Travis " T - Bone" catching their first blue.

Another local boat "Reel Committed" run by VJ Bell was a couple slips down form us. He had a great Saturday going 5 for 8.

If you have never fished this place and want to have multiple shots per day at blue marlin, book a trip. You wont be disappointed.

Here are a couple of pix.
